+ derivative work guidelines
In order to ensure that things don't get out of hand, we have created guidelines for derivative content.
You can:
- Make reinterpretations, fangames, fanpatches, fanart, etc. in good faith
- Create Let's Plays
- Release derivative content with or without mentioning that it is derivative content of a milk+ visual game
- If you are an individual, co-op or otherwise small group: Profit off of your derivative work (unless you are reusing free materials, and this would violate the creator's terms of usage)
You cannot:
- Utilize any milk+ visual content at all if you are incorporated
- Utilize assets of milk+ visual games that you are not authorized to use or reutilize free materials without providing the proper credits
- Make anything that promotes hatred against individuals or groups
- Make anything that puts underage characters in explicitly sexual situations
- Make a non-fungible token (NFT) from the derivative content
Permitted methods of distribution:
- Digital platforms
- Online limited runs
- Limited runs at events
- Free-to-play browser and mobile games
+ obtaining commercial games
You are free to obtain a game through the following methods:
- Direct purchase from the itch.io page
- (Recommended method) Making the cost of the game a donation to someone in need, whereupon you will receive a download code upon providing proof. More on how this will work when a commercial game is actually released
- Pirating
+ game license
We use a slightly modified version of an All Rights Reserved license that includes the spirit of these usage terms.
